about

The A side 'Tour de Mars' is a cover of Kraftwerk's 'Tour de France' which soundtracks an imaginary journey into deep space, beyond the Moon and onwards to the red planet. Heavy drums, Moog synthesiser and spaced out FX supply a cosmic backdrop for the interplanetary message of goodwill delivered using the Vocoder.

The B side 'Baker's Dozen' is heavily inspired by library music from the 60's and 70's; the kind of strange instrumental music you might have heard in the background of cult TV shows or adverts. Using the sound of a cork being popped from an empty bottle of gin as its main instrument, the track is also inspired by the work of BBC Radiophonic Workshop composer John Baker, famous for taking everyday sounds and using them to create music.
