about
This latest release from The Simonsound is a radiophonic ride aboard their imaginary 'SS Mk I Monorail', taking in five out of this world destinations along the way.
Board the Monorail and be whisked to Outer Space World, Underwater World, Inner Space, Robot World and The Land of Myths and Beasts.
Exploring the more experimental aspects of their previous work, 'The Beam' is a carefully crafted electronic collage mixing Buchla, Moog and EMS synthesisers, with tape manipulated percussion and acoustic sources.
While I'm a huge fan of electronic music, I love when these projects also introduce a narrative aspect. The unfolding history of Martin's musical journey adds such a wonderful dimension while listening to these albums. Not to mention the great visuals, too.

I lived and worked in Berlin the 80s. West Berlin. The legendary Hansa Studios. Heard rumours about Martin’s studio, and snippets of music. I never managed to connect with him though. So it’s a delight that his catalog is now being shared with the world. Sounding simultaneously timeless and futuristic. Thank you. geniusjones
